Gordon graduated from Texas Tech and Baptist Bible College. He also studied at Texas A&M and the University of Missouri. He was a missionary in Ethiopia for many wonderful years. He was a faithful member of Northside Baptist Church, where he served in the children's and youth ministries. After retiring, he enjoyed working part-time, helping his brother-in-law, Dennis, at Carpenter Industries of Concord. Much enjoyable leisure time was also spent with his beloved family and grandchildren, traveling, reading, and tending to his roses and garden.
