Gloria Tippett Saunders

Gloria Tippett Saunders, 86, of Richfield, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Atrium Health Cabarrus Hospital.

Gloria was born July 8, 1940, in North Carolina to the late William Russell Tippett and the late Bess Alice Tippett.

She was also preceded in death by husband, Roger Duane Saunders.

Gloria enjoyed being a first grade reading teacher. She loved serving at her church as piano and organ player. Gloria was known in the community as a kind and loving person with a big smile on her face. She was a wonderful wife, mother and the best Nana to her grand and great- grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1pm:1:45pm, Saturday, October 31, 2026, at New London Methodist Church. The funeral service will be on Saturday at 2:00 pm at New London Methodist Church in New London. Burial will follow at the New London Cemetery at 331 Spring Street, New London.

Survivors include daughter, Natalie Carroll (Joe) of Melbourne, FL, son, Adam Saunders(Sian) of Clyde, NC, 4 grandchildren Charity Bowman, Spencer Bishop, Ashton Davidson, Bennett Carroll; 5 great grandchildren; Amelia Bowman, Alice Bowman, Addison Bishop, Avery Bowman, Samuel Davidson and brother Bill Tippett (Charlanne). She is also survived by her Significant other Larry Drye.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be shared to The Taylor House 319 Palmer St, Albemarle, NC 28001 .
