Glenda Kay Tomberlin Kiker, 67 years of age, of Monroe, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015 at her home.
Kay was born January 30, 1947 in Union County to the late Wriston Lee Tomberlin and the late Flora Mae Rushing Tomberlin. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Bobby Tomberlin, J. W. "Bootie" Tomberlin, Buster Tomberlin.
The family will receive friends from 6 pm until 8 pm on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service, with Rev. Travis Hutcheson and Rev. Arval Rushing officiating, will be at 3 pm on Sunday, January 11, with a 30 minute state prior to the service, at Shiloh Advent Christian Church, 3601 Sikes Mill Road in Monroe. The burial will follow at the church cemetery. At other times the family will be gathering at the home.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Ronald Gene Kiker of the home; brothers, James Tomberlin of Mint Hill, Wilburn Tomberlin of Monroe; sisters, Flora Little, Deane Simpson, Peggy Hinson and husband Hilton, Doris Greene and husband Bill, and Faynell Greene, all of Monroe.
Kay had a giving spirit. She was selfless, always putting others before herself.
