Geraldine Hinson

Geraldine McDonald Hinson, 85, of Concord, passed away at Atrium Health Cabarrus on Saturday, September 3, 2022 with her family by her side.

Geraldine was born in North Carolina to the late Barney Silas Gant and the late Luna Martha Gant. She was also preceded in death by her first husband of 41 years, Reverend Everett McDonald, son, Dennis McDonald, her second husband, Bill Hinson and her siblings.

Geraldine was a devoted member of New Grace Baptist Church in Concord. With her unwavering faith and strength, she kept her foundation firm in Christ. She was known as a prayer warrior and a godly woman with a sweet and joyful spirit. She loved her grandchildren with all her heart and the desire to be a blessing to someone every day was her testimony. The love and compassion she had for people over the years as a minister’s wife will never be forgotten.

She is cherished and will be greatly missed by her granddaughters, Mandy (Jamie) Gaskins of Kannapolis, April (Josh) Carroll of Nolensville,TN, and Heather McDonald of Albemarle. Survivors also include her 5 great grandchildren and her nieces and nephews who loved her deeply.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm, Friday, September 9, 2022 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Friday at 1:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Allen Montgomery. Burial will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory at 2001 East Main St., Albemarle.
