Geraldine Dowdey

Geraldine Miller Dowdey, 86 years of age, formerly of Charlotte, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014 at her home in Stanfield. Jerry was born September 8, 1927 to the late Reverend and Mrs. Walter James Miller. She was also preceded in death by a brother Tom Miller in 2002. Jerry was a member at Loves Grove United Methodist Church in Stanfield, where the family will have a private burial. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Carl Eugene Dowdey; and their children, Sarah and Jim Minick of Rural Retreat,VA, and Paul and Michelle Dowdey of Stanfield, NC; three grandchildren, Allison Savannah, Clay Everett, and Tanner William Dowdey all of Stanfield, NC; brother, Jim Miller and his wife Billee of Mt. Airy, NC; sisters, Mrs. Kitty Coble and her husband Howard of High Point, NC and Mrs. Sandy Miller of Holden Beach, NC. Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Dowdey family.
