George N. Rudar

George N. Rudar, 76, of Albemarle, passed away Friday, November 3, 2023, at Atrium Health Stanly Hospital in Albemarle.

He was born in Rochester, PA, on April 9, 1947.  He was the son of George and Rose Rudar who are deceased.  He was married on January 5, 1978, to Patricia Baucant Rudar who survives.

He graduated in 1965 from Lincoln High School in Midland, PA.  He graduated from Life Christian University from the Greensboro Campus with a Masters Degree in Theology.  He has an Associate Degree in Accounting and Computer Science from Computer Institute, Pittsburg, PA.

He worked for Crucible Steel Mill in Midland prior to moving to NC.  He was formerly employed with Gastonia Housing Authority, NC as a housing inspector and retired in 2012.
He was employed part-time at Harris Teeter in Albemarle, NC until December 2022.

He served as Children's Pastor at Spirit and Truth for over 13 years, and served in Children's ministry for over 42 years, both in PA and in NC.  He served on committee for Albemarle Correction Institute and Ministered to inmates.

George did 5 mission trips to Africa to minister the gospel.
    
Survivors include wife, Patricia Rudar of Albemarle, NC, daughter, Carin Rudar of Phoenix, AZ, son, George Thomas Rudar of Denver, CO, son, Charles (Christa)  Rudar and grandchildren Charles Rudar and Chloe Arbaugh of Vandergrift, PA, son, Christopher Paul (Cici)  Rudar of Monroe, NC.

His hobbies were golfing and sports and was a huge Steeler fan and a supporter of Charlotte 49ers football team.

The family will receive friends from 5:00pm until 8:00pm on Friday, November 10, 2023 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 1:00pm at Spirit and Truth United Church of Worship in Albemarle officiated by Rev. Darryl Medley. Burial will immediately follow at the Norview Gardens Cemetery, at 949 Pee Dee Ave., Norwood.
