George Bruce Allen, Sr.

George Bruce Allen, Sr., 79, of Concord, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

Mr. Allen was born May 13, 1944, in Kingsport, Tennessee to the late Otto Allen and the late Maude Adams Allen. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Goddard.  

George Allen was a loving husband, father, grandfather and will be dearly missed by his family. He was also a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served as a cook.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Friday, September 29, 2023, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. Funeral service will take place 2:00 pm, Sunday, October 1, 2023, at Oak Hill Funeral Home in Kingsport, TN with the burial following at the Oak Hill Memorial Park, 800 Truxton Drive, Kingsport, TN.

Survivors include wife, Diane Hamilton Allen of Concord, NC; sons, George Jr. Allen of Concord, NC; Bill Allen of Kannapolis, NC; Bob Allen of Lake Lure, NC; and Jim Allen of Harrisburg, NC.  Also surviving are his seven grandchildren.
