Gary Thomas

Mr. Gary Lee Thomas, 75, of Concord, passed away Friday, May 24, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born the youngest of six children on April 4, 1938, to the late Grover Cleveland and Minnie Herrin Thomas in Cabarrus County. After serving in the U.S. Army, Mr. Thomas worked for Cabarrus Memorial Hospital for 31 years before his retirement. Mr. Thomas is survived by his; wife, Peggy Ann Helms Thomas; daughter, Teri Thomas Kirk; son, Gary Lee Thomas Jr. and his wife Linda; 5 grandchildren, Anthony Morrison Jr., Augusta Nichole Kirk, Andrew Kirk, Destiny Thomas and Sydney Thomas; sister Thelma Hartsell and by his brother Ray Thomas and his wife Ruby. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made the Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Ln. or to the Alzheimer's Association, 3800 Shamrock Dr., Charlotte, NC 28215. Hartsell Funeral Home is serving the Thomas family.
