A well loved son, brother, father, husband, and grandfather, Gary Clayton Honeycutt, 64, of Albemarle, NC passed away on November 4th, 2022.
Gary was born September 10th, 1958, to Homer "Red" and Linda Honeycutt, and grew up in Locust, NC. As a young man, Gary joined in his family’s business, Locust Pump and Well, and worked along side his father for many years learning the trade of well drilling.
Gary became a father himself in 1985 and went on to have two daughters and five grandchildren. He truly lived his life for “his girls” and spoke about them to everyone he met. In his free time, Gary enjoyed going on hunting trips with friends and was also an avid antique collector. In 2009, Gary took on a new adventure and partnered to open Tailgators Sports Grill. He took pleasure in being a part of and interacting with the Stanly county community. Gary was known for his giving heart and brought a smile to everyone he met. Upon his father’s death in 2014, Gary and his brother took over the well drilling business with great pride. He never wavered from upholding high standards and great values despite the countless hours of hard work he devoted to the company. Being on the well machine was his passion and a pastime he can be remembered doing up until his passing.
Survivors include his mother, Linda Honeycutt; wife, Jamie Morgan Honeycutt; daughter, Emily Honeycutt Lambert; daughter, Hannah Honeycutt Kinard and husband Bo; grandchildren, Breyden, Kinley and Levi Lambert; Jennings and Anniston Kinard; brother, Reggie Honeycutt and wife Susan; sister, Sherry Vaughn and husband Eric; and nephews, Jason Honeycutt and Clay Vaughn.
