Franklin Delano Carpenter, Jr.

Franklin "Junie" Delano Carpenter 70 of Concord NC, originally from Huntington WV, passed away peacefully on October 7th at the VA Hospice, after a short battle with Cancer.

Junie was born on November 15th 1954, to the late Franklin Carpenter and late Sylvia Carpenter in Huntington WV.

He was also preceded in death by his sister; Katie Hager, brothers; Ricky Carpenter and Davey Carpenter both of WV.

Junie is survived by his son, Joey Carpenter and wife, Courtney; daughters, Brittany Slater and husband, Will; and Casey Chandler and husband, Brandon. He has two grandchildren, Will JR, and Hunter, and four great grandchildren; Aubree, Brandon Jr, Jaylee & Khloe. He is also survived by his sisters, Delsie Craig and family of WV, Sheila Carpenter, Tracy Womack both of Concord NC, nieces, Amber Eller and family, Katie Carpenter of WV., nephews, Michael Carpenter and Matthew Hager of Concord NC.

Junie was a Vietnam vet and also served in the USMC as a LCP1-E3, and in the Army National Guard. Junie was a proud Marine and he truly loved his Country. His heart was purely Red, White and Blue, through and Through.

The thing that Junie was the proud of the most was being called dad and papa. His love for his children and grandchildren were unmatched. Just hearing any of their names, brought the biggest smile to his face, and he loved them until his very last breath.

Every day, every night, every hour and every place we will look for you, and we will love and think about you Junie, you left a big hole in our hearts and you will be truly missed.
