Frances Huneycutt

Frances Ellen Smith Huneycutt, 77, of Locust, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021 at her home in Locust.

Frances was born July 2, 1943 in North Carolina to the late Albert Sidney Smith and the late Eunice Ellen Blackwelder Smith.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Huneycutt, brothers, Ted Allen Smith and James Cefus Smith, and sister, Della Casper.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 1:45 pm, Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Berea Baptist Church of Stanfield. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the sanctuary officiated by Pastor Jody Wetta. Burial will follow at the Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 24517 Ridgecrest Road, Locust.

Survivors include son, Gary Davis (Judy) Huneycutt of Oakboro; daughter, Rita Faye Huneycutt (Slats) Phillips of Locust; grandchildren, Eric Wayne Christy, Felicia Dawn (Tony Shoe) Christy, Amanda Hatley; great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Payton Shoe, and Katlyn Dawn Lowman; brothers, Albert (Mary) Smith, Joe (Margie) Smith; and sisters, Reva (Hugh) Honeycutt, Julia Ann Smith.

Frances was known as a Proverbs 31 woman all the way. She loved her family and was always a brave, compassionate, and loving person no matter what she was going through. She was a loving sister and grandmother...  and EVERYONE loved her. Due to her health, she would kiss people's hands as the way to show her love since she was unable to speak it beyond saying "I love you."
