Fannie Blackwelder

Fannie Elizabeth Blackwelder, 91, of Concord, passed away peacefully of natural causes Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis surrounded by family. She was born July 20, 1922 to the late John and Cora Barringer. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Dexter Blackwelder, Jr. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm, Friday, January 3, 2014 at Westford United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow Friday at 2:00 pm at the church officiated by Rev. Jeffrey Rushing. Burial will be held at the Roberta United Methodist Church Cemetery following the service. Mrs. Blackwelder is survived by three sons, Von Stephen Blackwelder of Concord, Johnny Blackwelder of Concord and Mark Blackwelder of Troy; two daughters, June Barringer of Concord and Telka Ritch of Concord; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three brothers, Earl Barringer of Concord, Ray Barringer of Texas and Joe Barringer of Kannapolis; two sisters, Nell Higgins of Concord and Norma Jean Clements of Durham. Fannie was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. Fannie loved the Lord as well as her church family at Westford United Methodist Church where she was a member for more than 50 years. The family would like to thank Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis for the loving care given to their mother. Memorials may be made to Westford United Methodist Church, 273 N Carolina 49, Concord, NC 28025. Hartsell Funeral Home is serving the Blackwelder family.
