Everett Lovett

Everett Monroe Lovett, 87, of Charlotte, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Atrium Mercy in Charlotte.

Everett was born December 18, 1934, in Kannapolis to the late Raymon and Lillian Lovett.  He was also preceded in death by his daughters, Gloria Calvert and Janet Ashley; grandson, Jordan Nichols; and brother, Marvin Lovette.

Everett was a graduate of A.L. Brown High School, Kannapolis.  He spent most of his free time doing carpentry and woodworking, especially remodeling houses, including a Crisis Pregnancy Center House.  Everett was always outdoors, especially working in the yard.  He volunteered as an usher for 50 years at Laurel Baptist and Northside Baptist Churches.  He also enjoyed cooking at Northside Baptist for the Jolly 60s.  Everett never met a stranger and will be lovingly remembered as a jokester.  He also liked Krispy Kreme Donuts and Golden Corral Buffets.  Most of all, Everett loved spending time with his family.  He will be dearly missed and forever loved.

Survivors include beloved wife of 57 years, Edith Lovett of the home; daughter, Melia "Lucy" McDonald and husband, Legrand "Mac," of FL; daughter, Donna Taylor and husband, Reggie, of Mint Hill; grandchildren, Meredith Miles, Joshua Miles, Teresa Edens, Shawn Nichols, Jason (Sarah) Nichols, Jennifer (Jason) Aupied, Steven (Tiffani) Overcash, Brian Overcash, Aaron (Jan) Lam, Joseph (Amber) Ashley, and Christopher (Nikki) Ashley; 24 great-grandchildren; niece, Marvie Cartner; and nephew, Stephen Lovette.

Everett will lie in state at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm on Saturday, October 15, 2022.  The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm - 2:45 pm, Sunday, October 16, 2022, at Northside Baptist Church, 333 Jeremiah Blvd, Charlotte.  The funeral service in celebration of Everett's life will follow at 3:00 pm in the sanctuary, officiated by Rev. Michael Landrum.  Everett will be laid to rest at Carolina Memorial Park in Harrisburg during a private committal service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Northside Baptist Church.
