Evelyn Swaringen

Evelyn Jeane Varner Swaringen, 86, of Albemarle, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord. Evelyn was born October 27, 1927 in Matinsville, VA to the late Jay Varner and the late Lillian Canupp Varner. She was also preceded in death by first husband, V. Eugene "Sal" Smith; second husband, JD Swaringen; and brother, Bill Varner. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm, Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel, with Rev. David Nolan officiating. The burial will be at Fairview Memorial Park. She is survived by her stepdaughter, Sandee Huneycutt and husband Todd of Millingport; two step grandchildren, Tristan and Rhett Huneycutt of Millingport; and numerous in-laws and nieces and nephews.
