Eugene Nelson, Sr

Eugene Frederick Nelson, Sr., 70 years of age, of Nebo, NC, formerly of Charlotte, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center - Main in Charlotte. He was born March 19, 1943 in Virginia to the late Elmer Frederick Nelson and the late Matilda Anne Nelson. He was also preceded in death by brother, Wayne Nelson. There will be a private memorial service in Nebo at a later date. Survivors include wife, Dale Mildred Nelson of Nebo; daughter, Kimberly (David) Holt of Midland; NC son, Eugene Frederick (Tiffany) Nelson Jr. of Matthews, NC; grandson, Maverick Gene Nelson; granddaughter, Kiera Soleil Nelson; sister, Ginger Smith; brothers, Billy Whitman, Paul Whitman, and Jimmy Whitman. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He retired happily to Nebo, NC in 2007, where he enjoyed living on Lake James with his wife and two dogs, Dazzle and Pearl.
