Ethel Bostic

Ethel Marie Smith Christenbury Bostic, 89 years of age, of Concord, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Transitional Health Services in Kannapolis.
Ethel was born May 10, 1925 in Stanly County to the late Arthur Mattie Smith and the late Allie Theddus Clontz Smith. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Audrey Christenbury; second husband, Clyde William Bostic; son, Gary Steven Christenbury; two brothers, Daniel and Travis Smith; and three sisters, Ruby Gaskey, Ollie Herrin, and Beatrice Yow.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Love's Grove United Methodist Church in Stanfield. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm in the church sanctuary officiated by Rev. Jim White, Rev. Tim McQueen, and Rev. Donald Ingle. The burial will be at the church cemetery. At other times the family will be gathering at the home of her daughter, Elaine Newsome, 1791 Simplicity Rd. in Concord.
She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Newsome and husband Wayne of Concord; two grandchildren, Michael Newsome, and Kevin Newsome and wife Crystal, both of Concord; two great-grandchildren, Megan Newsome and Garrett Newsome, both of Concord.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Lake Norman, and the nurses and CNAs at THS for their compassionate care. The family would also like to thank Connie Honbarger, Lori Gazley, and Ralph Lacks for their loving assistance.
