Essie Faye Cranford Stamper, age 86, of Albemarle passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Rowan Regional Hospital in Salisbury. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle from 10 AM to 11 AM on Monday, March 4, 2013. The funeral service will follow at 11 AM in the Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Delane Burris officiating. Burial will be at Stanly Gardens of Memory. At other times the family will be meeting at the home of her son, Clifford, 1041 E. Main St. in Albemarle. Essie was born in Stanly County on June 13, 1926, to the late Cicero Amos Cranford and the late Jennie Lee Richardson Cranford. She is preceded in death by her husband, Troy Alexander Stamper in 1990; sons, Larry Stamper and Roger Stamper; half brothers, Rob Cranford and Willard Cranford; half sisters, Catherine Moss and Anna Hall; and granddaughter, Tangi Stamper. She is survived by sons, Ronnie Stamper and Clifford Stamper; daughters, Annette Brooks, Judy Honbarrier; twin sister, Bessie Stamper; 10 grandchildren; one step-grandchild; 15 great-grandchildren; and two step-great grandchildren. Essie loved spending time volunteering at the Christian Ministry, which she did for 15 years. She was a loyal member of Fairview Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Stanly Community Christian Ministry, 506 S. First St. Albemarle, NC 28001. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the family.
