Erin Colleen Gruen

January 21, 1972 — December 8, 2025

Charlotte

Erin Colleen Gruen, born on January 21, 1972, entered into eternal rest on December 8, 2025. She was the beloved daughter of Henry and Lynn Gruen, who welcomed her into the world with joy and love.

Erin's life was full of challenges as she lived with physical limitations, yet she faced each day with remarkable courage and an unwavering smile. Her joy was genuine and contagious---she loved to laugh, and her laughter had a way of lifting the spirits of everyone around her.

Music brought Erin great happiness. She especially enjoyed the timeless voices of John Denver, Simon & Garfunkel, and many other cherished artists whose songs comforted and delighted her. She had a creative soul; arts and crafts were among her favorite pastimes, and she poured her heart into everything she made.

Erin also enjoyed helping in the kitchen, especially when it came time to preparing fun snacks. Whether she was stirring, arranging, or simply participating in the moment, she loved being part of the activity and sharing the joy of making something together.

Erin had a warm, inviting presence and loved conversation with anyone who crossed her path. She cherished life's simple pleasures---especially her Diet Coke, which she would do just about anything to enjoy. She also loved being called Cinderella, and if you ever forgot, she would proudly---and quickly---remind you.

She treasured time with her friends, especially gathered around a table playing card games. Erin could play Crazy Eights and Uno all day without ever losing her enthusiasm. Those moments of laughter, friendly competition, and companionship were among her happiest.

Throughout Erin's life, many devoted caretakers walked beside her, supporting her with patience, love, and compassion. Their dedication made an immeasurable difference in her life and in the lives of her family. For every act of kindness, every moment of care, and every bit of comfort they provided, her family remains deeply grateful.

Erin's life was a testimony of resilience, kindness, and quiet strength. Those who knew her carry treasured memories of her laughter, creativity, her quirks, her helping hands, and the boundless warmth she shared.

Erin will be deeply missed, but the love she gave and the joy she brought will forever live on in the hearts of all who loved her.

May she rest in peace, wrapped in the love she so freely gave.
