Emma Ross

Emma Smith Ross, 75 years of age, of Albemarle and Holden Beach, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.

Mrs. Ross was born July 9, 1939 in Stanly County to the late Reedie and Lauro Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Paul Whitley Ross, in 2013.

The family will receive friends at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Fellowship Hall from 2 until 3 pm on Sunday, December 7, 2014. The funeral service will follow at 3 pm in the sanctuary, officiated by Dr. Wayne Bennett. Burial will follow at New London Cemetery.

Survivors include son, Andy Ross and wife Cathy of Albemarle; daughter, Amy Polk and husband Steven of Monroe; grandchildren, Bethany and Amanda Ross, Lauren Hudson and companion Adam Frick, Josh Hudson and wife, Whitney; step-grandsons, Steven and Brandon Polk; three great granddaughters; two brothers, Marvin and Ernest Smith; many cherished friends; and longtime pet, Scooter.
