Emily May Keene

Emily May Keene, 21, of Oakboro, passed away Friday, January 12, 2024.

Emily was born August 27, 2002, in North Carolina to Bobbie Jo Akers Whitley and the late James David Whitley.

She was also preceded in death by great-grandmother, Shirley Beachum.

Survivors include son, Matthew James Keene, Jr.; husband, Donnie Yarborough; mother, Bobbie Jo Whitley; sisters, Destiny Whitley and Claudine Whitley; grandmother, Frankie Reed; and many other relatives.

Emily loved Stitch from Lilo and Stitch. She tended toward the dark and morbid side of things - but loved the color pink. Emily was a follower of Wicca and enjoyed finding different gems and crystals for protection spells and healing. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving Emily's family.
