Elmer Raymond Greene, Jr.

Elmer Raymond Greene Jr., 77, of Harrisburg, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Atrium Health Cabarrus Hospital in Concord.

Ray was born April 12, 1948 in North Carolina to the late Elmer Raymond Greene and the late Aylene Mae Greene.

Core Community Church of Concord is hosting a visitation from 3:30 pm to 4:30pm and a memorial service at 5pm on Sunday, July 20. A graveside service will be on Monday, July 21, at 10:00 am at Carolina Memorial Park located at 601 Mt. Olivet Rd. Concord, NC officiated by Pastor Doug Agnew.

Ray was a wonderful husband and father. He retired as a police officer from the Charlotte Police Department in 1985. Ray was a big car enthusiast, with his 70' Chevelle as one of his favorites and was known around many car shows. Over the years, he loved taking care of many different kinds of animals, including birds, dogs, and goats. Ray was heavily involved with his church family at Core Community Church of Concord, where he was also a founding member. He was a very devout Christian who will be sorely missed, but we are certain that he now gets to be with his Lord and Savior whom he loves.

Survivors include wife, Patricia Greene; son, Robert McCarter; sister, Cathy Smith; and his favorite little yorkie, Henry Ford.
