Elizabeth Jane “Mam†Tarlton Arrowood, 95, of Oakboro, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Stanly Regional Medical Center. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle on Monday, January 21, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service, officiated by Dr. Terrell Watts, will be held at First Baptist Church, Oakboro, Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with a 30 minute state prior to the service. Burial will follow at Oakboro Cemetery. At other times, the family will meet at her home, 617 North Main Street, Oakboro, NC. Elizabeth was born on January 03, 1918, in Union County to the late Nathaniel Brown Tarlton and the late Jennie Mae McCoy Tarlton. She is also preceded in death by her husband in 1983, Thomas Eugene Arrowood; a daughter, Vivian Lorch and a sister, Pauline Huneycutt. Mrs. Arrowood is survived by a son, Eddie Arrowood and wife Linda of Oakboro; a daughter, Priscilla Foreman of Marietta, SC and a sister, Elsie Furr of Stanfield; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. She was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church Oakboro where she taught Sunday School, was WMU director, and was extremely active as long as her health permitted. She was retired from Stanly Knitting Mills.
