Elgie Gray Honeycutt, 82, of Albemarle, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 27, 2026, at Atrium Health Stanly in Albemarle.

Born on April 28, 1944, in North Carolina, Elgie was the daughter of the late William Elton Bryant and Nellie Norris Bryant.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Delco Genay Honeycutt; her sons, David Jerald Honeycutt, Harold Genay Honeycutt, and Scottie Gray Honeycutt; and her sister, Aline Small.

Elgie found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved playing bingo, spending time fishing, shopping at Walmart, and enjoying watermelon and souse meat. Above all, she cherished the time she spent with her family and friends. She was known for her kind heart, warm smile, and the love she freely shared with those around her. The memories she created with those she loved will be treasured for years to come.

She is survived by her son, Marvin Dell Honeycutt; her grandsons, David Clark Honeycutt and Neil Thomas Honeycutt; her great-grandchildren, Lilah Elizabeth Honeycutt, Asa-Kane Lee Honeycutt, Luna-Fae Reyna Honeycutt, and Gunnar Clark Honeycutt; her sister, Mary Yates of Raleigh, North Carolina; her nephews, Jeff Gray of Clayton, North Carolina, Mike Yates of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Everette Yates of Panama City, Florida; her niece, Amanda Watson of Raleigh, North Carolina; and a host of extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her love, laughter, and precious memories.

At the family's request, no services are scheduled at this time.
