Edward Arthur Raynor

Edward Arthur Raynor, a resident of Harrisburg, North Carolina, peacefully departed this life on November 10, 2023, at the age of 94, surrounded by the comforts of his home.

Mr. Raynor was a member of the First Church of God, actively participating in congregations in both Norfolk, Virginia, and Concord, North Carolina, over the course of many years.

Having dedicated two decades to the United States Navy, Mr. Raynor served as a proud veteran, contributing to the efforts in both World War II and the Korean War. His military service exemplified a deep sense of duty and patriotism.

Mr. Raynor is preceded in death by his cherished wife of over 70 years, Iris Yvonne Raynor. He leaves behind a legacy embraced by his five children and their spouses: Joe and Nancy Raynor, John and Jamie Raynor, Jerry and Lori Raynor, Judy and Kurt Faubion, and Jimmy and Susie Raynor. Additionally, his memory lives on through his two sisters, Mary Ruth White and Sadie Jones.

The Raynor family circle extends to include thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, a testament to the enduring impact of Mr. Raynor's life on the generations that followed.

In celebrating the life of Edward Arthur Raynor, we honor a man of faith, service, and family. May he find eternal peace, and may his loved ones find strength in the memories they shared.

Interment with Military Honors will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023, 11:00 am at Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC.  A Celebration of Mr. Raynor's Life will follow from 12 NOON - 3:00 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home, 12115 University City Blvd. Harrisburg, NC 28075.
