Edward Poplin

Edward William Poplin, 82 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Stanly Manor in Albemarle. Edward was born June 26, 1931 in Stanly County, NC to the late Jonah Lee Poplin and the late Selma Morton Poplin. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Peggy Ann Rowland Poplin in 2012; and 11 brothers and sisters. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Wednesday at 11:00 am at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Ervin Houser. The burial will follow at the Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery in Albemarle. At other times the family will be meeting at the home of his niece Marie Hatley, 701 Bethany Rd. in Albemarle. He is survived by one sister, Pauline Hopkins of New London; caregiver and niece, Marie Hatley of Albemarle, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
