Edward Mcdaniel

Edward Martin McDaniel, 82, of Concord, passed away peacefully in his sleep Friday, December 2, 2022, at his home in Concord.

Edward McDaniel was born June 17, 1940, in North Carolina to the late Howard Elmer McDaniel and the late Agnes Lucille Talley McDaniel.

He was also preceded in death by wife, Alice Ruth Drake McDaniel, brother, Larry Wayne McDaniel, daughter-in-law, Debbie McDaniel.

Edward grew up on the family farm and enjoyed the beauty of nature. In his spare time, he would be found fishing, hunting, camping, and loving the outdoors. He loved spending time with his family and welcomed anyone with open arms.  Edward worked at Cannon Mills until retirement, and he also ran his own dump truck and sawmill company for the public. For 3 years he devoted his time and efforts to the National Guard Armory where his service and dedication never wavered. Edward would be remembered for his amazing stories of his childhood and family history, his love and care for his community and others, and his giving heart.   He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord officiated by Rev Leon Hawks. Burial will follow at the Cold Springs United Methodist Cemetery at 2550 Cold Springs Road, Concord.

Survivors include , Son, Dwayne  McDaniel, daughter, Terrie  (Bryon ) Reece, daughter, Amy  (Tom) McDaniel, granddaughter, Susan  Reece, grandson, Phillip  (Morgan ) Reece, Special Friend, Libby  Parnell, and Special Friend, Gaye Morris.
