Douglas Northrup

Douglas “Doug” Lee Northrup, 58, of Concord, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2012, at his home after a courageous battle with acute myelogenous leukemia. Mr. Northrup was born November 30, 1953, in Fayetteville, New York, in Onondaga County, to Clarence Eugene Northup, Jr. of Port St. Lucie, FL, and the late Dorothy Lints Northrup. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 23, at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord. The funeral service will be at 8:00 p.m. in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel in Concord. In addition to his father, Doug is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Susan Mary Spaeth Northrup, of the home; his son, Christopher, of the home; his brother, James Northrup of Vero Beach, FL; and his sister, Laurie Fallon of Port St. Lucie, FL. Doug graduated from Fayetteville Manlius High School and the SUNY College of Forestry. He was owner and operator of Custom Services Group, Syracuse, NY. In 1994 he moved his family to the Charlotte area where he was most recently employed with Balfour Beatty Corporation.
