Donna Marie Newton

Donna Marie Newton, of Concord, a woman whose life was full of love, laughter, and a little bit of adventure, passed away Monday, September 1, 2025, at the age of 84.

Donna was born July 13, 1941, in Iowa to the late Richard and Daisy Keil. She was also preceded in death by husband, William Newton; son, DJ Crossley; daughter, Gail Aaron; brother, Earl Keil; and sisters, Shirley Feldtman and Korlyn Williams.

She shared a deep and enduring love with her husband, Bill, with whom she traveled the open road as a team of truck drivers, making memories that would last a lifetime. Bill passed in 2008, and now they are together again. Her daughter, Gail, preceded her in death, and they are now reunited, surely sharing their daily chats once more.

A devoted mother, she poured her heart into raising her children, always making sure they were cared for- whether teaming up with her daughter, Penny, to manage life’s ups and downs or pulling her grown son, Dave, aside to remind him to be safe on his Harley. She even had a hand in introducing Dave to his future wife. Her love extended to her grandchildren, who will forever treasure the fun and excitement of vacations spent with her. She found joy in the little things- tending her garden, especially her roses, and collecting roosters, dolls, and carousel horses over the years.

Survivors include daughter, Penny Newton; son, Dave Newton and wife, Norma; son-in-law, William Aaron; granddaughters, Cassandra Sims and Amanda Hewitt; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Elysia and Lillie; sister, Frances Moore; and nieces and nephews. She leaves behind a legacy of love, care, and unforgettable memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, September 5, 2025, in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Kannapolis.
