Donald Ray Starnes, Sr., 75 of Concord, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2012 at his home. The family will receive friends at New Gilead Reformed Church at 2400 Old Salisbury Concord Road, on Sunday, August 5th from 2 until 3 pm. Services will be held at 3 pm at the church. Donald was born on May 12, 1937 in Cabarrus County, to the late Floyd Starnes and Mary Magdaline Poplin Starnes Klouse. He was also preceded in death by a grandson James Arthur. He is survived by his wife Sarah Roxann Starnes of the home; sons, Donald Ray Starnes, Jr. and wife Windy, Michael Wayne Starnes, Timothy Allen Aldridge and wife Jackie, Theron Atlas Aldridge and wife Angela; daughters, Jeanie Starnes Laidlaw and husband Eric, Tammy Aldridge Gray and husband Jackie, Teresa “Cissy” Aldridge Chavez and husband Julian, Terri Lynn Aldridge Arthur and Woody Arthur, Toni Jean Aldridge Yow and husband Ray; grandchildren, Allison and Dylan Starnes, Mark and LeAnn Gray, Kenza Herrin Anderson and Michael, Shane Herrin and Tabitha, Ann Aldridge and J. Torrence, Chris Aldridge and Amanda, Kimberly Aldridge and Bobby Williams, Shannon and Whitney Arthur, Tyler, Amber, Hunter, and Jennifer Yow, Cheyenne Aldridge; great-grandchildren, River Beal, Caleb and Chase Anderson, Taylor, Jake, Jarod, and Jordin Torrence, McKinley Hilderbrant, Kaydence Williams. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to The American Cancer Society 1901 Brunswick Avenue Charlotte, NC 28207. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Starnes family.
