Donald Wesley Grubbs

Donald Wesley Grubbs, 56 of Albemarle, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at the residence.

Wesley was born December 7, 1969, in North Carolina to Donald Patterson Grubbs and Laura E Craven Barnes. He grew up in Badin, North Carolina, a place that remained close to his heart throughout his life.

Wesley was a hardworking and dedicated man who spent 40 years working at Dominos. During those many years, he built countless friendships and relationships and became a familiar and loved face by so many. His work ethic, personality, and ability to make people laugh made people laugh made an impression on coworkers and customers alike.

While Wesley took pride in his work, nothing meant more to him than his family. His greatest joy and accomplishment in life was being a father and grandfather. He was blessed with five children and six grandchildren, and there was nothing he would not do for people he loved. His family was truly his world.

Dad was the kind of person who could make anyone laugh. He was truly one of the funniest and sweetest people anyone could ever know. His sense of humor, his smile, and the way he could brighten a room will be deeply missed. He had a heart that was bigger than life, and those who knew him will carry his love with them forever.

When he wasn’t spending time with his family and fiancé, he enjoyed the simple things that made him happy fishing, playing poker, vacations with his fiancé and family and cheering on his favorite teams, the Atlanta Braves, Carolina Panthers, and Tar Heels. These were some of the things that brought him joy, but his family was always his greatest love.

Wesley is survived by his loving fiancé Angie Kennedy; his five children, Emily, Whitney, Colby, Andrew, Dylan; his six beloved grandchildren, Logan, Kylo, Beckham, Bexley, Willow, and Levi; his brothers Charles and William Grubbs; his nieces and nephew Ashley, Matayah, Skyler, Aaron. And his son in laws; Stephen Kelley and Joshua Zinaty.

He was preceded in death by his mother Laura Elizabeth Craven Barnes, brother Anthony Dwight Grubbs and stepfather Thomas Jefferson Barnes.

Though our hearts are broken that he is no longer here, we find comfort knowing that the love he gave us will never leave. His stories will never leave. His stories will be told, his jokes will be remembered, and the memories he made with us will live on for generations.

He wasn’t just our dad, grandpa, fiancé, brother or son.. he was our safe place, our laughter, and one of the biggest pieces of our hearts.

He will be loved Missed and remembered forever.
