Dianne Helms

Dianne  Helms, 72, of Mount Pleasant, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at home.

Dianne was born June 23, 1951 in North Carolina to the late J D Greene and the late Emma McCormick Greene. 
She was also preceded in death by husbands, Danny Eugene Canup, Sr. and Michael Edward Helms, Sr.; granddaughter, Falisha Williams.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 11:45 am, Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will follow in the chapel, officiated by Rev. Don Burleyson. Burial will then follow at Carolina Memorial Park located at 601 Mt. Olivet Rd, Conord NC.

Dianne was wonderful wife, mother, and sister.  She enjoyed cooking and listening to country music and gospel, especially Elvis.  But most of all, she cherished spending time with her family, going on vacations to places such as the mountains and the beach.  Dianne was a believer and loved the Lord with all her heart.  She was a member of Kannapolis Church of God, formerly known as West A. Street Church of God, where she and her family attended, and is also where her sons were baptized.  Dianne had a big heart and would often put other's needs above her own.  Her passing was truly a loss to the community and she will be sorely missed.

Survivors include sons, Danny E. Canup, Jr., and John E. Canup; step-son, Jonathan A. Helms; sister, Mary Burnette; brothers, Bill (Mary) Greene, Wayne (Jean) Greene, and John Greene; grandson, Eric Williams; many beloved nieces and nephews.

Donations may be made to Shriner's Hospital of Greenville South Carolina, the 700 Club, and the Wounded Warrior Project.
