With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Dianna Kaye Moucka, 76, of Albemarle, passed away Monday, June 1, 2026, at Stanly Manor in Albemarle.
Dianna, but to most known as Kaye, was born January 8, 1950, in Concord, North Carolina to the late Everett Dagenhart and the late Carlene Elizabeth Dagenhart. She lived a life centered on family, love, and devotion to those she cared about most. Her kindness, strength and caring nature left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Kaye shared 42 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Thomas Moucka, until his passing in 2017. Together they built a family that become the pride and joy of her life. She was a devoted mother to Brian Hubbard of Albemarle, the late Eric James Hubbard, Jennifer Pope (Ryan) of Oakboro, and Matthew Moucka of Albemarle.
Of all the roles she held throughout her life, being "Nana" was her favorite. Nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her grandchildren: Grayson Pope(Sydney), Braeden Pope, Holden Pope, Branson Miller, Jaxon Moucka, and Ainsley Moucka. She celebrated their accomplishments, cherished every visit, and loved each of them beyond measure. The memories she created with them will remain treasured gifts for years to come.
Kaye is also survived by her brothers, Gary Dagenhart (Janet) of Denver Colorado, and Ronnie Dagenhart (Julie) of Harrisburg, North Carolina along with many extended family, and her ability to make those around her feel welcome and cared for. Her legacy lives on through the family she loved so deeply and countless lives she touches with her warmth and compassion.
In accordance with her wishes, no funeral or memorial service will be held. Her family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Stanly Manor, who cared for and loved her as if she were their own. She loved the staff there as if they were her family, which is immeasurable to her family during this time. They would like to invite those who knew and loved her to honor her memory in their own way and keep her spirit alive though acts of kindness, love and family togetherness.
Though she is no longer with us, the love she shared and the memories she created will remain in our hearts forever.
Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Moucka family.
