Danny Whitley

Danny Edward Whitley, 70, of Charlotte, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 26, 2021 at his home in Charlotte.

Mr. Whitley was born February 21, 1951 in North Carolina to the late Edward R. Whitley and the late Ruth E. Whitley of Albemarle, NC.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Saturday May 1, 2021 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland.

Survivors include son, Dan Whitley (Amy) of Pittsburgh, Pa, and Brian Whitley of Charlotte; and former wife, Sandy Lynch Whitley of Stanfield.  Danny is also survived by grandchildren, Joshua, Danny, and Morgan, all of Gaffney, SC; along with Connor, Jaydan, and Kendall of Stanfield; and step-granddaughter Alyvia of Center Twp., PA.; brothers Gerald and wife Carrie, Rick, Bill and wife Donna, Garry and wife Shelia, and Junior and wife Beverly; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Danny was a Barber/Hairstylist in the Matthews area for over 27 years. He was an Honorably Discharged U. S. Marine (1973) as well as a devoted member of the Matthews Church of God.
