Daniel Kirchner

Daniel Thomas Kirchner, 42 of Harrisburg, NC died March 29, 2013 at his home. Dan was an active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, a devoted husband and father of two young daughters. He was a leader in his neighborhood homeowner's association, and an active participant in his children's sports and activities. Dan enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was landscaping, hiking, coaching baseball and soccer, or preparing something smoky and delicious on the grill. A 1992 graduate of UNCC with a B.S. in Criminal Justice, Dan worked as an insurance and litigation consultant for nearly 20 years. Dan is survived by his wife of 17 years, Lisa, daughters Emma and Sarah, mother Tilly, sister Melissa, sister-in-law Randy, and many other family members and loved ones. He was preceded in death by daughter Grace, brother Brian, and father Daniel Edward. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to one of the following charities favored by the Kirchner family: The Turner Syndrome Society: www.turnersyndrome.org The Victory Junction Gang Camp: www.victoryjunction.org. A memorial fund has also been established to benefit his wife and children. The family would like to thank the entire community of Harrisburg, and dear friends and neighbors that have been so supportive during this difficult time. Visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home, 460 Branchview Drive, NE, Concord, NC 28025 from 6-8pm on Thursday, April 4, 2013. A mass of Christian burial, officiated by Father Winslow, will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on Friday April 5, 2013 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Charlotte Memorial Gardens.
