Corliss “Corky” Ann (Fischer) Robinette
October 11, 1944 - March 29, 2026
Corliss Ann Robinette, 81, passed away peacefully at Clayton Rehabilitation on March 29, 2026.
Corky was born on October 11, 1944, and spent her early childhood in Chicago, Illinois. In 1960, she met the love of her life, James Louis Robinette, Jr. They were married on February 15, 1964. This year they celebrated their 62nd anniversary, a testimony to their deep love and lifelong commitment. In 1974, they welcomed their daughter Jennifer, who became one of Corky’s greatest joys.
Corky graduated from beauty school and later pursued studies in accounting at her local community college. She worked for several years in accounting before becoming a full-time Mom. Corky did a lot of volunteer work while Jennifer was growing up, including the YMCA and Lester Elementary School where she was a lunch monitor and very involved in the PTA as the co-president. After moving to Concord, NC in 1987, she resumed working as an accountant. Corky worked for the Cannon School/Cabarrus Academy as the business manager and then the City of Charlotte, which she retired from. She was known for her strong work ethic, dedication, and attention to detail.
Corky loved to fish and hike in the Smoky Mountains, feed and enjoy the birds, and volunteer. Corky trusted in Jesus Christ and enjoyed reading her Bible and devotionals. In 2010, she and her husband Jim joined Roberta Church where they soon began leading the Missions Committee as co-chairs. One of their most cherished ministries was serving at Esther’s Heart for Transformation, helping provide food for children in need. Corky also served in the children’s ministry.
Corky was preceded in death by her father, Frank Fischer; her mother Freda Fischer; her brothers, Donald and Wayne Fischer; and her sister, Kathleen Fischer.
She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, James Robinette; her daughter, Jennifer Davis and her son-in-law, Michael Davis; and her beloved grandchildren, Jonathan and Allison Davis.
Corky will be remembered for her strength, her generous heart, and the deep love she had for her family and friends. Her memory will live on in the lives of all who knew and loved her.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
A visitation will be held at Roberta Church at 3925 Cochran Rd., Concord, NC 28027 on April 7th, 2026 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11 am. Interment will take place at Roberta Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be given to Esther’s Heart (www.esthersheart.com) or Roberta Church (www.robertachurch.org).
Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Robinette family.
