Charles Edward Grimes

Charles Edward Grimes, 91, of Concord, NC passed away Sunday, October 11, 2026, at Brookstone Retirement in Lexington, NC.

Ed was born June 17, 1935, in Campbell County, Kentucky to the late William Grimes and the late Lucy Mobley Grimes. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lorene Grimes; and daughter, Theresa Crawford.

Ed served 22 years in the military. He loved spending time with family and friends, talking, and watching local youth sports. He volunteered at his church when needed. Ed loved his church and God.

Survivors include son, Rusty "Russ" Grimes and wife Birtie; daughter, Brenda Key and husband David; son, David Grimes; daughter, Teresa Kriedeman and husband Keith; daughter, Sherry Kemp; son, Benny Shaw and wife Belinda; son, Barry Shaw and wife Dana; son, Mike Shaw and wife Brenda; as well as several loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 10:45 am, Monday, October 19, 2026, at Pitts Baptist Church in Concord. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at Pitts Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Scott Davis and Rev. Kevin Seger. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with full military honors.
