Cathy Lisk Patterson

Cathy Sue Lisk Patterson, 70, of Midland, NC passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.

Cathy Sue was born October 17, 1955 in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late J.R. Lisk and the late Lillie Jane Ford Lisk.

She was also preceded in death by brother, Edward J. Lisk.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 50 years, Herman Earl Patterson of Midland, NC; son, Edward Thomas Patterson and wife Stevie; sister, Linda Lisk; as well as niece, Dana Bergeron and husband Andre; and numerous nieces, nephews and family friends.

Cathy Sue and her husband Herman enjoyed antique furniture and going to estate sales. She loved the holidays and especially enjoyed cooking and providing meals for those at Thanksgiving and Christmas. She always said that it was better to have too much, than not enough. Cathy Sue worked at the former Charlotte Memorial Hospital (Atrium Carolina) for 40 years. That's where she met her husband Herman in 1976, and married shortly after. Cathy Sue will be dearly missed by all those who knew her and loved her.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 12:45 pm, Friday, September 25, 2026 at Dulin's Grove Advent Christian Church. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm, officiated by Rev. Matt Rice. Burial will take place at the Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Rd., Mint Hill.
