Carrie Louise Griffin

Carrie Mae "Louise" Griffin, 88, of Concord, NC went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 4, 2026 surrounded by her family.

Louise was born November 10, 1937 in Cabarrus County, NC to the late Samuel Irvin Mitchell and the late Bertha Mae McLester Mitchell. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Adam Boyce Griffin in 2008; and infant brothers James Ray and Irvin Hardy. 

Survivors include her daughter, Melissa Leatherman and husband Greg; son, Lanney Griffin and wife Tammy; daughter, Lynette Kunder and husband Tommy; grandchildren, Chad Britt and wife Marilyn; Erica Brown and Ted Hall; Daniel Griffin and wife Katie; Dillon Griffin and wife Brandi; Josh Worthington and wife Jennifer; Greyson Daniels; Maxwell Kunder; Kaitlyn Kunder and Ashelyn Kunder; great grandchildren, Mathhew Britt, Emily Britt, Presley Hall, Adelyn Griffin, Clay Griffin, Avery Griffin, and Weston Griffin. 

Louise loved spending time with her family and enjoyed her pets Summer and Mia. She could be found watching her favorite TV shows and enjoyed farming, fishing and horseback riding in her younger years. Louise loved traveling to the beach and mountains over the years. She was a proud member of Coldwater Baptist Church and the Eastern Star for over 50 years. She will be dearly missed by her family and all those who knew her. 

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 12:45 pm, Friday, October 9, 2026 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord, 460 Branchview Dr. NE, Concord, NC. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at Harsell Funeral Home Chapel of Concord, officiated by Rev. Jim Posey. Louise will be laid to rest next to her husband at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis, NC. At other times the family will be gathered at Lanney and Tammy's home at 5651 Cold Springs Road S., Concord, NC 28025.
