Carrie Marie Boger

Carrie Marie Boger, 77, of Albemarle, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

Marie was born July 12, 1946, in North Carolina to the late Robert Fitzhugh Williams and the late Carrie Jane Dry. She was preceded in death by her brother, Fred Williams, and her sisters, Connie Gilbert, Patsy Howell, Mabel Lowder, Gwen Williams, Wanda Hathcock, and Shirley Williams.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle officiated by Rev. Adam Hatley. Burial will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory, 2001 East Main Street, Albemarle.

Marie attended West Albemarle Elementary School and graduated from Albemarle High School in 1964, where she was a member of the FHA and played basketball. She attended Arnold’s Business College in Albemarle. She enjoyed working with numbers. She worked at Federal Pacific in Albemarle as an accountant. She retired in 1999 from the Stanly County Finance Department, where she worked as the Assistant Finance Director.

Her hobbies included listening to music, reading, and bird watching. Marie enjoyed spending time with her family, going to her favorite places in Albemarle, and traveling to the mountains of North Carolina in the fall. She had many friends and was a well-loved member of the community. She was kind, compassionate, had a big heart, and always smiling. Marie was a wonderful mother, wife, and friend, and she will be dearly missed.

Survivors include husband, Mike Boger; son, Sean Boger; brother, Kenneth Williams; sister, Linda Spear; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
