Obituary
Mother Carolyn Johnson Robinson of Harrisburg, North Carolina, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and faithful servant of the Lord. Born on December 14, 1951, in Cabarrus County to the late Reverend Henry Johnson and Agnes Spears Johnson, Carolyn lived a life filled with compassion, dedication, and grace.
She was educated in Cabarrus County Schools and later graduated from Stratford Career Institute’s high school program before earning her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential from Carolinas College of Health Science. Carolyn answered her calling to care for others by working in various healthcare facilities throughout her career and most recently with Miles Family Services, where she was cherished by her clients for her kindness, compassion, and gentle spirit.
Carolyn’s greatest joy was serving the Lord through her church family at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Harrisburg, North Carolina. She was a faithful member who sang in the Hymn Choir, worked diligently in the Healthcare Ministry, served on the Historical Committee, and poured her heart into the Kitchen Ministry. Her life was a testimony of service, faith, and love for God’s people.
She is survived by her loving husband, Joe Nathan Robinson; her daughters Pamela Johnson of Charlotte, NC; Robin (Garland) Byers Holland of Concord, NC; and Rhonda Cathey of Newport News, VA; as well as her stepsons, Anthony Earl, Telvin Robinson, and Evar (Terrie) Johnson. Carolyn was especially proud of and deeply loved her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy.
She is also survived by her siblings: Henry (Minnie) Johnson of Charlotte, NC; Cynthia Johnson of Charlotte, NC; and Robert (Joy) Johnson of Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. She was preceded in death by her sisters Antonia Johnson and Connie (Charles) Johnson Mack.
Carolyn’s life reflected her favorite truth: “His Will, Her Way.” Her memory and legacy of faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”
