Calvin Corbett Rose

Calvin Corbett Rose, 98, of Midland, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2026 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

Mr. Rose was born November 29, 1927 in Davy, West Virginia to the late Jeston Corbett Rose and Viola Bell Rose.

He was also preceded in death by son, Jerry Rose; and several brothers and sisters. He was the last surviving sibling.

Survivors include his wife of 74 years, Opal Paynter Rose of Midland; son, Corbett (Cindie) Rose of Statesville; daughters, Rita Sue Morgan of North Spring WV, and Sharon Henry of Midland; six grandchildren, Derek Rose of Statesville, Cassie (John) Renner of Harrisburg, Heather (Steven Lester) of North Spring, WV, Misty (Tommy) Hatfield of Coal Mountain, WV, Wendy Bolsom of North Spring, WV, and Kevin (April) Morgan of Bland, VA; also several great and great-great grandchildren.

He loved the outdoors, riding his lawn mower, and deer hunting until his health prevented it.

He loved his church where a memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Praising Place Church of God, 5268 North Sharon Amity Road, Charlotte, NC 28215 officiated by Rev. Roy Tucker, Jr., and Rev. Sean Dees.
