Bruce Peterson, Sr

Bruce Lawrence Peterson, Sr. age 73 of Stanfield, passed away on Saturday, September 8, at Tucker Hospice House. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle on Monday, September 10 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 11 at 11:00 AM at Palestine Methodist Church with a 30 minute state, officiated by Rev. David Nolan and Rev. Gary Wyrick. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Peterson was born in Jersey City, NJ on August 27, 1939 to the late Lawrence Peterson and the late Grace Apel Peterson. He was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Misenheimer. He is survived by his wife, Jenny Reeder Kizer Peterson; four sons, Donald Misenheimer and wife Laurie, Glenn Misenheimer and wife Donna, John Misenheimer and wife Lauren and Bruce Lawrence Peterson, Jr.; one sister, Audrey Bedle; and three grandchildren, Kelli, Kevin and Michael. Mr. Peterson loved his motorcycle, was a volunteer fireman and served as a lighthouse operator in the US Coast Guard. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Peterson family.
