Bruce Lee Nixon, 73, of Concord, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

Mr. Nixon was born February 3, 1953, in Concord, North Carolina, to the late John Henry Nixon and the late Nina May Kiser Nixon. He was also preceded in death by his brother Billy Nixon.

Bruce served two years in the US Army before going into construction as a glazier. He would often talk about the different jobs sites he’d been on such as the Bank Of America building in uptown Charlotte. After retiring in 2016, he could often be found tinkering in his workshop. He was also an avid Tar Heel fan and loved to go fishing.

The family will receive friends from 12pm-1pm on March 14th, 2026. The memorial service will follow at 1pm at Laurel Baptist Church, 11801 Plaza Rd. Extension, Charlotte, NC 28215, and will be officiated by Dr. Jonathan Blankenship.

Survivors include, wife, Kathryn Brown Nixon of Concord, NC; son, Jeremy (Katherine) Nixon of Midland, NC; son, Justin (Lisa) Nixon of Concord, NC. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Daylen, Jayden, Delilah, & Allana, and brother Melvin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Laurel Baptist Church.
