Bruce Michael Lube

Bruce Michael Lube, 83, of Concord, NC, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, NC.Bruce was born on June 2, 1942, in Chicago, IL, to the late Ervin Peter Lube and Roberta Marsh Kresin. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Leaurel Camden Lube; his sons, Jasen Michael Lube and Lance Eric Stath; and his sister, Lois Dutton.

Bruce grew up in Ogden, IL, and attended school in both Homer and Ogden, where he enjoyed time with his sister and many friends. He excelled in biology, a passion that guided him to Eastern Illinois University to pursue a teaching program. He later continued his studies at Purdue University, where he met the love of his life, Leaurel.

Bruce married Leaurel Rene Camden on May 29, 1976. Together, they began their life in Waco, Texas, before eventually settling in Concord, NC.A man of many talents, Bruce was a dedicated teacher and an accomplished microbiologist. He was also an avid fisherman whenever the opportunity arose. Bruce had an extreme love for traveling and always carried a great story from every place he visited. He shared that passion with his family, traveling to many destinations with Leaurel and their children, creating memories they cherished for a lifetime.

Bruce earned his bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and later a master’s degree in Entomology. His love for insects led him to a career in Texas before he accepted a position with EPRI, a Charlotte-based company. After the birth of his two children in Texas, he moved his family to Charlotte, where he began his longest and most impactful tenure at EPRI as a Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion Specialist and Senior Project Manager for the plant corrosion program.

Bruce loved his children deeply and looked forward to being a grandfather. Though he endured the heartbreaking losses of Lance in 1993 and Jasen in 2019, he found renewed joy through his daughter Amber’s three children, sharing with them his curiosity, humor, and endless science facts.

Bruce will be greatly missed by his family and the many friends whose lives he touched.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. Services will be held in Warsaw, IN, on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. Bruce will be laid to rest with military honors at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Warsaw, IN. Survivors include his daughter, Amber Lucille Lube Harrison, and son-in-law, Zachariah Harrison; and his grandchildren, Adelynn, Jonah, and Anistynn Harrison, all of Concord, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cabarrus County 4-H Cooperative Extension Program.
