Boyce William Barbee

Boyce William Barbee, 79, of Midland passed while surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren on June 28, 2023.

Boyce was preceded in death by his father, Claude William Barbee, mother, Cleo VonCannon Barbee, and infant sister, Shelia Maxine Barbee.

Boyce was a long-time employee of Southern Mechanical Services; his nickname was “bulldog.” He was known to be a hard-working, dedicated, and honorable man. He always expected others to strive for perfection and get the job done.

Boyce was survived by his wife of 58 years, Brenda Hough Barbee. He was also survived by his sons, Brent Barbee (Krista), Sean Barbee (Emily), and daughter Sharon Efird (Lee). Boyce was also known as Paw to his grandchildren, Ramsee Parrish (Brandon), Shelbee Barbee, Reagan Efird, Liam Barbee, Rachel Efird, Annelise Barbee, Ella Barbee, Nate (Gabi), Ella, Drew, and Thad Crabtree, and he was a great grandfather to Zachary, Coen, and Coy Parrish.

A visitation will be from 2 - 4PM and the celebration of life will begin at 4PM for Boyce on Sunday, July 2, at Mill Grove United Methodist in Midland.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mill Grove United Methodist (13659 Hwy 601 S, Midland, NC 28107).
