Bonnie Lee Richardson

Bonnie Lee Richardson, 96, of Marshville, passed away Friday, November 3, 2023, at Autumn Care in Marshville.

Bonnie was born June 30, 1927, in North Carolina to the late Martin Lee Austin and the late Ollie Jane Austin. 
She was also preceded in death by husband, James Ernest Richardson, Jr, brother, James Artis Austin and his wife Cora Austin and by nieces, Betty Bracey and Carolyn Huneycutt.

Bonnie worked for Stanly Knitting Mills for many years in which she thoroughly enjoyed.  She also found time at home to sew for others when called upon to do so.  In her spare time Bonnie would be found working with flowers and spending time with her family. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Oakboro, in which her love and dedication never wavered. She was an amazing cook and enjoyed doing so. Bonnie will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. 

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 12:45 pm, Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Hartsell Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle officiated by Dr. Terrell Watts. Burial will follow at the Oakboro Cemetery at 1397 North Main Street, Oakboro, NC.

Survivors include sister, Shelby Jean Thomas, niece, Debbie (James) Speights of Marshville, NC, niece, Judy (Clay) Edwards, nephew, Jimmy (Annette) Austin and niece Tammy (Mark) Mullis.

Special acknowledgement and thanks to the ladies of First Baptist Church of Oakboro for their acts of kindness and continued visits with our beloved Bonnie.
