Blennie Mauldin

Blennie Ezelle Doby Mauldin, age 80, of Albemarle, passed away at her home on Wednesday, April 3, 2013. The family will receive friends at First Street United Methodist Church on Sunday, April 7, 2013 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm . The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Leslee Wray and Rev. Jeff Rushing, will follow at First Street United Methodist Church at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at the Fairview Memorial Park. Mrs. Mauldin was born on November 9, 1932 in Albemarle to the late Doctor Crone "Rendy" Doby and the late Lula Mae "Madie" McInnis Doby . She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Kay Mauldin. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Clarence Melvin "Amos" Mauldin of Albemarle; a daughter, Beth Hill and husband, Tommy of Albemarle; three grandchildren, Mitch Laton and wife Mary Ann of Albemarle, Brooke Senter and husband Neil of Albemarle, and step granddaughter, Stephanie Hill of Cary; and three great grandchildren, Austin and Dylan Laton, and Mia Senter. Mrs. Mauldin worked in textiles for 30 years and retired from the Stanly News and Press. The family wishes to thank Dr. Rufus Lefler and his staff, Home Care of the Carolinas, and Hospice of Stanly County. A special thank you to the compassionate care givers.
