Billy Smith

Billy Hall Smith, 82 years of age, of Concord, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. Mr. Smith was born January 30, 1931 to the late Millard M. and Rettie Brattain Smith. . Survived by wife, Carol Love Smith; son, Richard A. Smith (Nancy) of Concord; daughter, Robin S. Boles of Lexington; step-son Michael D. Hopkins, (Teresa) of Kannapolis; grandchildren, Matthew (Cheri), Timothy (Melissa), Christopher (Stephanie) and Caroline Hopkins. Eric (Ashlyn) Smith, Jeremy Smith and Katelyn S. Feroe (Ian). Great grandchildren; Shawn, Ethan Owen and Kadan Hopkins, Courtney and Erica Smith. Sister; Evola Troutman of Midland, Louise Barbee (Bud) of Stanfield. Brothers; Clayton (Carol) of Albemarle, Hilton (Louise) of Albuquerque, NM Preceded in death by his brothers; Hoil, Grady, Ermin, Coy, Theron, and Newell. Sister; Vera Morris, step-daughter; Deborah C. Hopkins. Mr. Smith formerly worked for Cannon Mills and Fieldcrest as a supervisor of the Assembly, especially in Senior Activities including driving a bus for seniors. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 23, 2013 from 12:00-2:00 at Hartsell Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00pm in the chapel, officiated by Rev. Tom Whidden.
