Billy Burris

Billy Joe Burris, 85, of Statesville, passed away Friday, April 30, 2021 at Gordon Hospice House of Statesville.

He was born September 2, 1935 in Stanly County to the late Lawson Alexander and the late Jane Eudy. In addition to his wife Thelma Jane Burris he was also preceded in death by son Randy Joe Burris; brother, Ray Burris and sister, Jennie Lee Morgan.

The body will lie in state from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM, Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. A Graveside service officiated by Rev. Jesse Herring and Rev. Garry Baker will be held at 3:00 PM, May 5, 2021 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 17236 Frog Pond Road, Oakboro. A 30 minute state will be held prior to the service.

Survivors include son, Rick Burris (Jane) of Statesville, NC; grandchildren Robert and Rebecca Burris; brother, Wayne Burris.
