Betty Stallings

Betty P. Stallings, 90, of Concord, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 21, 2023.

Betty was born February 19, 1933 in Concord to the late Roosevelt and Vassie Poplin.  She was also preceded in death by brother, Larry Roosevelt Poplin.

Betty was a member of Eastside Missionary Baptist Church in Concord.  She retired from Prudential after more than 30 years of service.  Betty loved flowers and working the garden.  She was a great cook and baked great cakes.  She enjoyed reading and listening to Bill sing.  Most of all, Betty was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She will be greatly missed and forever loved.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 41 years, Roy C. "Bill" Stallings, Jr. of the home; daughters, Sherrie Helms of Concord and Alisa (John) Hatley of Concord; grandchildren, John Hatley, Jr., Matthew Hatley, Whitney Hatley, Laura Hatley Freeman, and Jason Stallings; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 10:45 am, Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord.  The funeral service in celebration of Betty's life will follow at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Rev. Chuck Hensley and Rev. Steve Burrow.  Burial will follow at 1:00 pm at Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Eastside Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, 199 Elgin Dr. NE, Concord NC 28025.
